Bloodless revolution
Posted in Thailand on September 21st, 2006Long lost friend asked on IM: “How’s it going?”
Me: “Great” (the conversation began around 9p.m. on Sep 20)
Long lost friend: “You from Thailand, right?”
Me:”yeb, I think the situation’s not as bad as it look.”
I didn’t know how the situation was at that moment since I live in Virginia, so I pointed out to this and this.
Here’s the current situation as of September 21:
- There is no gunfire or bloodshed. It’s a peaceful Coup.
- The situation appears to be calm in Bangkok and everywhere in Thailand.
- There has been some visibility of the army on the streets.
- Some people bring food and flower to the soldiers.
- Thailand still commit to democracy, and we will have a democratic election soon.
